The Blue Grotto is a place of stories and imagination. The cave reveals multiple states in humans, crossed by overwhelming emotion and wonder. Grassi’s DRAW ON LIGHT drawings, secreted in light boxes, retrace the stories of the imaginary representations of the Blue Grotto cave through her layers of markings. In the homes created from kaolin, the artist speaks about habitation in a dualistic way. From the exterior, BLUE GROTTO HOUSE appears to be the ideal of domestic purity, expressed in the reassuringly stable and geometric forms, while the interior reveals possible unknowns. These two works coexist in the same place, giving form to dichotomous imagery.

Grotta Azzurra, luogo di storie ed immaginari. Attraversata da inquietudine e meraviglia, la Grotta Azzurra ha rivelato i molteplici stati degli esseri umani. Come in tutte le esperienze conoscitive, l’accesso avviene attraverso un oltrepassare una soglia. Questo mimare uno spegnere e riaccendere ripercorre la storia di ciclici abbandoni e riscoperte della grotta, continuamente innescati dal superamento della paura dell’ignoto.
