“Appunti sul volo” explores balance. It’s inspired by the famous tightrope walker Philippe Petit and his impossible mission of walking across the twin towers on a wire. It’s the first part of a study on the limit between the abyss and the sublime. I’ve started from a research on the long history of flight in relation to the human act of emulating nature, exercising and repeting, approaching courage, curiosity and imagination. Philippe’s unforgettable gesture is here intended as an élan vital that reminds of all daily and grand human challenges. I imagined a line acting both as a bridge and a question, where the funambul, crossing the void reveals the chance of balance.

Appunti sul volo è un lavoro sul tema dell' equlibrio ispirato alla figura del famoso funambolo Philippe Petit e alla sua impresa impossibile dell’attraversamento le torri gemelle su una fune. É una prima parte di studio sul limite tra l’abisso e il sublime. Sono partita dalla riflessione sulla lunga storia del volo in relazione alla copia della natura, all'esercizio e alla ripetizione, al rapporto con il coraggio, alla curiosità e alla fantasia. Il gesto indimenticabile di Philippe è qui inteso come una grande spinta vitale che ricorda tutte le imprese quotidiane o grandiose degli esseri umani. Immaginavo un filo che fa da ponte e da domanda dove il funambolo, attraversando il vuoto, rivela la possibiltà dell'equilibrio.
